Hiration: ChatGPT Powered Career Tool

The Department of Career Services proudly offers the Hiration AI platform as part of our suite of tools available to our students and alumni - free, for life. The ChatGPT-powered job search platform levels the playing field for job seekers, offering world-class resources to make building or optimizing your resume easier. By leveraging AI, Hiration has flipped the script on today's applicant tracking systems (ATS) and helps job seekers rise to the top of the applicant pool.

How Does Hiration Work?

Are you ready to build or enhance a resume that represents your experience and skills? Are you looking to take your LinkedIn profile to the next level? Take advantage of Hiration's AI-powered resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn review tools. These tools offer numerous templates for building resumes and cover letters from scratch, or tailoring existing resumes for specific jobs. Resumes can then be forwarded to career coaches directly within the system for seamless, one-on-one support. Hiration's LinkedIn Review tool can also help you optimize your profile by providing an in-depth score for each section, and letting you know what's working and what's not based on industry key words and trends.

Create Your Account

Registering for Hiration is easy! Follow the steps below:

1. Visit the Hiration sign-up page - we recommend signing up with the email you use most often.
2. Once on the page select the "sign-up" button in the top right.
3. Enter the email you want to use and create a password.
4. Begin using Hiration!

The Resume Tool

Once you are logged into Hiration you can begin building or optimizing your resume. There are two ways to utilize this function:

1. Build a resume from scratch.
2. Upload a current resume you are working on

Building a New Resume

1. Make sure you are on the "Resume Builder." You can confirm this by selecting it on the top left-hand side the page.
2. Next, select the "Create a new Resume" button.
3. Select from one of their many resume design templates.
4. Follow the prompts and begin building your new document.

Note: You can easily edit your new resume by clicking on it from your "Resume Builder" tab in the top left corner of your screen.

Uploading Your Resume

1. Make sure you are on the "Resume Builder." You can confirm this by selecting it on the top left-hand side of the page.
2. Select the "Create a new Resume" button, then choose "Upload my Resume."
3. Your document will be transferred into the template you had chosen - this will only take a moment.
4. Next, you will be redirected to the resume. The resume review (AI) feature will dissect your resume content and rate it. Use the resume review tool as a guide to alter your document to make it more competitive in the job market!

Note: Once your new or edited resume is complete, use the "Job Match" feature to compare your resume to an open position you are interested in - located in the top right of the screen next to "Resume Review." It is good to compare your resume to active job postings to make sure your resume matches your career goals.

The Cover Letter Tool

Resumes are not the only tool available for leveraging AI. The cover letter tool helps you create a standout letter to catch the interest of hiring managers.

1. Make sure you are on the "Cover Letter" tab by selecting this option in the top left.
2. Select "Create New Cover Letter."
3. Select the design you would like to use. Select and personalize a template tailored to your job profile or career objective.
4. Begin editing.

The LinkedIn Review Tool

Did you know, "87% of recruiters use LinkedIn to verify candidates before selection," according to Hiration? Reach your job goals faster - follow the steps below and allow Hiration's AI power to help you create a stellar profile.

1. First, log on to LinkedIn.
2. On the left-hand side of the page, click on your name. This will take you to your LinkedIn profile page.
3. Under your name, click "More," then select "Save to PDF."
4. From your Hiration dashboard, click on "LinkedIn Review" in the top left-hand corner of the page.
5. Select "Upload Your Profile PDF."
6. From there, you will see your overall score and your score for each section of your profile. As you read through the suggestions, you can edit your information straight from LinkedIn to optimize your profile.
